TVS saved Infineon 2 months on a 12 month schedule, and reduced costs by 20%

TVS supplied Infineon Technologies with a team of highly-qualified verification engineers and integrated them quickly into Infineon’s verification processes and methodologies

When Infineon Technologies’ Bristol Design Centre urgently needed a team of verification engineers, the company turned to TVS for help. TVS, a UK-based company that specialises in software testing and hardware verification, quickly supplied a team of six highly-qualified and experience verification engineers enabling Infineon to meet its aggressive project deadlines.

The company urgently needed extra verification engineers to work on a new family of microprocessor products for the automotive sector. Safety-related issues in this industry meant that hardware verification was a major concern.

“We were having difficulties finding qualified engineers in a short space of time,” explains Steve Neill, managing director of Infineon UK. “There is currently a shortage of good verification engineers and we did not have the time to go through the recruitment process ourselves.”

Infineon required engineers with experience in using the verification tool Specman as well as the re-use of verification components written in the programming language e. Using its many years of experience in the field, TVS not only found a team of qualified engineers but also supported their integration into Infineon’s verification processes and methodologies.

Darren Galpin, system IP verification manager at Infineon UK and chair of the IEEE’s e Functional Verification Language Working Group added: “The verification engineers from TVS were technically excellent, ramped up very quickly into our environment and were soon making a positive contribution to the project”.

“TVS provided us with the resources we needed, when we needed them and within our budget,” says Neill. “We would not hesitate to use verification resources from TVS again in the future.”
